The Expert Collective: From Vision to Reality - A Story of Inspiration, Growth, and Empowerment

Embarking on the journey of founding a business is an intimidating task, but with unwavering conviction, perseverance, and an unrelenting vision, one can surmount any obstacle. Such is the story of The Expert Collective (TEC), a Canadian-based organization that came to fruition in November 2020, with the aim of enabling individuals to transform their dreams into reality.

TEC's narrative is a chronicle of inspiration, growth, and an unyielding commitment to the betterment of humanity. The founding members of TEC were driven by an unquenchable desire to provide a platform that would empower people to eliminate the barriers that impede the achievement of their dreams. Their ardour was to create a community of individuals that could offer support, mentorship, and resources to those striving to carve out a better future for themselves. Thus, with this noble vision, TEC came into being as a private organization in November 2020.

Following the registration of the organization, the TEC team embarked on an arduous journey to launch the platform. The team conducted extensive research to identify potential affiliates that shared their values and mission. In a short span, the TEC team succeeded in securing the commitment of 32 affiliates from diverse fields.

The TEC team was cognizant of the fact that funding was a critical component in realizing their goals. Therefore, they submitted their first fund-sourcing application to the Canada Summer Jobs program in March 2021, which proved successful. They secured funding of $26,000 for eight CSJ participants, which provided employment opportunities to students and youth in Canada, including TEC and other organizations.

From April 2021 to August 2022, TEC was an active participant in the CSJ program, where they continued to work on their mission while expanding their network.

In August 2021, TEC registered as a not-for-profit organization, which allowed them to expand its mission and receive support from a wider range of contributors. This achievement was a significant milestone for the TEC team and a testament to their unrelenting dedication and hard work.

TEC's unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others caught the attention of the Government of Canada, resulting in a solicited call for a proposal under the Support for Students Learning Program in August 2021.

This opportunity led to the birth of the For The Love of Youth (FLY) project, aimed at providing financial assistance, mentorship, and educational resources to young newcomers. TEC recognized the importance of mental health and access to resources and sought to create a safe haven for young people to express themselves and receive the support they needed.

In December 2021, TEC soft-launched its platform, offering Canadians access to a community of experts and resources that help them achieve their aspirations. Today, TEC is expanding its network, offering mentorship, resources, and employment opportunities to students and young people across Canada.
