Blizzards Coaches Andy De Guzman and Coach Dan Share Their Passion and Expertise with Young Athletes
Coach Andy De Guzman (right), a seasoned basketball player and mentor, boasts a remarkable 19-year career in the sport and has been coaching youth basketball since 2004. He co-founded the Filipino Canadian Basketball Academy (FCBA) and has worked with several prestigious organizations throughout his career. Coach De Guzman recently attended the Cochrane outreach on Sunday, sharing his passion and expertise with young athletes. Upholding his belief that "good practice makes perfect," he continues to make a meaningful impact in the world of basketball.
Coach Dan (left), an experienced basketball player and skilled manager, immigrated to Canada in 2011 and later joined forces with Coach Andy De Guzman to establish FCBA Blizzards Basketball in 2019. Under Coach Dan's leadership, the organization has grown from a single court with 12 kids to occupying an entire gym. A former player at Bulacan State University, Coach Dan was known for his shooting prowess beyond the arc. With FCBA Blizzards, his primary goal is to provide children with the opportunity to play, enjoy sports, and pursue their dreams at the highest level of competition.
