FLY Initiative Hosts Successful Mental Health Learning Session for Students

Mental health is a vital aspect of our overall well-being, yet it's often overlooked and stigmatized. The For the Love of Youth (FLY) initiative took a proactive stance on April 21st, 2023 by hosting The Importance of Mental Health After School Student Learning Session (ASSLS), which sparked a much-needed conversation on this important topic.

Bea Gan, FLY's After-School Activities Coordinator delivered an awe-inspiring presentation that emphasized the importance of prioritizing our mental health. Gan's presentation covered several essential takeaways, including strategies for identifying signs and symptoms of mental health conditions, managing stress and anxiety, and the importance of seeking professional help when needed.

Moreover, Gan bravely tackled the stigmatization surrounding mental health and how it can hinder individuals from seeking help. The FLY Mental Health event was an enlightening showcase of how information and education can drive meaningful change. Attendees were encouraged to participate and engage in the discussion, resulting in an informative and thought-provoking event that left a lasting impression.

The Expert Collective's and the FLY's initiative's work in promoting awareness about mental health and breaking down stigmas surrounding it has undoubtedly made a significant difference in promoting mental health and wellness for young people. As we navigate through the challenges of daily life, it's essential to prioritize our mental well-being. FLY's Mental Health event serves as a powerful reminder of this, and we must continue to support each other and promote mental health in our communities.
